About the Conference

Where Youth Meet Global Power

The world's biggest challenges need a new kind of diplomacy. Youth are leading it. The International Youth Conference (IYC) is the flagship platform of the International Organization of Youth (IOY), bringing together young leaders, policymakers, and changemakers from across the globe.

Held twice a year in Los Angeles in May and New York City in September during UNGA High-Level Week, IYC produces real policy outcomes, youth declarations, and frameworks submitted to the United Nations.

Founded in 2019, IOY operates across 186+ countries with a seat at UNGA, HLPF, ECOSOC, and CSW.

Thematic Pillars

The Five Core Principles

Every IYC conference is anchored in five foundational principles drawn from the Pathway to Peace Youth Declaration.

01
Peace Begins Locally
Sustainable peace starts in communities and scales to international institutions.
02
Youth as Architects
Young people are not beneficiaries of governance. They are its designers and implementers.
03
No Peace Without Inclusion
Durable solutions require the full participation of all groups, especially those historically excluded from decision-making.
04
Technology Must Serve Humanity
Emerging technologies must be governed with human rights, equity, and sustainability at the center.
05
Partnership is the Only Path
Complex global challenges require cross-sector, multi-generational collaboration.
